SHOPPING

Tourists to McCormick have their work cut out for them when it comes to novelity shops, art work and second hand shops. Make sure you stop by the shops on Main Street. Don't think the Depot is a train depot - once was, now it's a hand-me-down shop. Right over the tracks you must stop into the MACK for fine art, creative crafts and many keepsakes.

CULTURE                             Return to Top

If you hit it right, you'll need a program guide to keep up with what's going on around McCormick and the surrounding area. We in McCormick have a thing for parades. Our GOLD RUSH festival in September attracts folks for hundreds of miles away. At the MACK there is always something on display. Greenwood has a lovely and historical playhouse you need to see. And Augusta ... well, besides the James Brown Arena, Broad Street, endless entertainment and fine dining you'll think you've found a comfy sized New York City to play in.
We also have a resident writer/historian. We also have a great crafts club and over in Savannah Lakes you'll discover every kind of club imaginable.

NIGHT LIFE
For dinning Michelle's Pizza is a lot more than a pizza joint and so is Little Italy.  Right in town you'll find  Mexican and Asian and country resturants.  For the bar-hoppers amiong us, locally we have Harry's Bar and the 378 Bar. for those who like drinks with your billards and Karaoke. Alcohol is not served on Sundays in South Carolina unless you belong to a private club such Sport's Break or Chris'. Accordingly most establishments are closed on Sundays. However, while still in SC, there are bars in Greenwood designated as private clubs that do serve on Sunday. We recommend 'The Sport's Break'.and Chris II in Abbyville, but there are several good ones out that way. Augusta, GA is a bit more up to date and has it all and you can drink and play card games on Sunday too! ... well, besides the James Brown Arena, Broad Street, endless entertainment and fine dining you'll think you've found a comfy sized New York City to play in.
