Mike Blum is now my brother-in-law as of May 2, 2005. We met at Poor Peter's during 1979 when he and another life-long, mutual friend of ours, Jimmy Chalelas started to hang there. We became like 3 brothers until Jim's death in 2004. Mike and I are very close still, however, the old gang is gone. I settled down with his sister Cathy and we moved to Florida. Mike still haunts the bars in Bay Shore and speaks about moving down here. We hope so, although we doubt that will ever happen. A product of old age is settling in one place, one life. Thank goodness for phones. |
