Julie was the sweetheart of the club and my object of longing and affection. In fact, had she not encouraged my attraction I would had not hung at Poor Peters long at all. Most importantly, she held my attention because she - like me - was a top notch dancer and we became steady dance partners. A romance would have blossomed but her mother was 3 years younger than I.
